The house

The Cascina "Il Poggetto" dates back to the early 1700s and was originally the home of the farmers who worked the surrounding lands. The lower floors, now housing the living room and kitchen, once sheltered animals to provide warmth for the farmhouse during winter.

On the upper floors, where we now find double bedrooms, the farmers lived.

The farmhouse features an old wood-burning oven, once used to bake bread for the entire village, as well as original terracotta floors, fireplaces, beamed ceilings with tiles, and is surrounded by ornamental plants, tall trees, an orchard, and an olive grove.

The one-hectare property is nestled in nature and tranquility.

Overlooking the natural reserve and Lake Bracciano, the farmhouse is set against the backdrop of the Sabatini mountains, visible from nearly every point on the property. The property is located just 3 km from Bracciano, a medieval village with a castle and a rich history, and only 50 km from Rome, easily accessible by train every 30 minutes. The nearest station is just 3 km from "Il Poggetto."

Casetta

The casetta , an outbuilding located next to a 400-year-old oak tree, is an independent space featuring a kitchen, a bathroom with a shower, and a rooftop terrace where you can work or dine while enjoying the sounds of nature.

The Casetta is entirely self-sufficient, with residents managing it independently during their stay.

Park

The internal park of Poggetto borders the natural reserve of Lake Bracciano, surrounded only by woods and nature. Its intimate boundaries allow for a complete immersion in a rural setting.

The land is home to centuries-old trees, ornamental plants and flowers, olive trees in production, and a vegetable garden, all designed to ensure self-sufficiency for those living here.

We also have a few small animals, and it's common to encounter wildlife such as squirrels, badgers, porcupines, owis, foxes, wild boars, martens, and more while walking through the forest.

Within these woods, there's a path leading to the lake, where you can explore Etruscan and Roman ruins and enjoy fresh, locally produced goods from our farm and small neighbouring producers.
